But how could I feel like the desirable woman I wanted to be? And how could I reconnect with my inner child, the one that feels safe and is allowed to be wild? I knew I was relying on sources that no longer sufficed, and I had to listen and feel what I truly longed for deep within. I had no choice but to sit down and have long conversations with my aching heart and the wounded woman I had become. As I sat with myself and allowed my higher wisdom to come through, words and images began to flow out of me. I had no idea where this would lead, but I enjoyed it, it hurt less, and it became a wonderful journey of self-discovery with many laughs. Of course, it took some courage and time to get there, but it didn’t take long. As an illustrator, I used my own tools to shape what I needed to hear and what I wanted to say and read aloud to receive the messages I had always wished someone would tell me, over and over again.

Today, when I lose my balance, when I’m unhappy, when I feel irritable or frustrated, and when I need to hear that my truth is always right and that I’m invincible within my circle of friends, I pick up Invincible Venus, Go-go Volcano. I’m constantly surprised and amazed by the impact it still has on me. It reminds me that I possess my own POWER and that life on this Earth is rich and beautiful—even when I’m feeling desperate, going through rocky times, and feeling like nothing is working.
